History
- 1990: Guitarist, songwriter and failed window fitter Kev Taylor forms the band Ouch! in Medway, Kent.
- 1991: Ouch! sign to independent record label, Cavell Records.
- 1992: Ouch! release their debut single I Need You More.
- 1993: The band recruit bass player Jon Mellor and embark on major UK tours supporting The Commitments
and 70's lovegod David Essex.
- 1994: Ouch! Score their first No.1 single in Japan with Can't Stop Looking At You and the follow-up
You Should Know By Now also tops the charts, seemingly unhindered by a superbly naff video of the boys romping on an
open-topped London bus with a Queen lookalike!
- Later that year, the band tour Japan and enjoy a highlight performing Beatles songs at the Japanese Cavern Club in Tokyo.
- 1995: The band record their second album, Knock! Knock!
- Their second Japanese tour proved to be their last as mismanagement finally takes its toll on the band's progress.
- 1999: After a period of frustration and limited opportunity, the band recruit drummer Clive Jenner and produce their third and
finest album, Medway Dog.
- April 2000: At the launch of their first UK single launch for years, Ouch! split up on stage at The Garage in Islington,
following a Spinal Tap-inspired fight!
- August 2000: Kev, Jon and Clive reform as a semi-acoustic trio playing covers including several Beatles favourites, centred
round their shared love of close harmony arrangements.
- Clive's burgeoning career as a session drummer includes stints with Lenny Kravitz, Groove Armada, The Freestylers,
Roots Manuva and most recently The Proclaimmers. Unable to compete with that kind of pull,
Jon & Kev soldier on forming versatile vocal duo Bulldog, and later John & Paul II,
a homage to their heroes Lennon & McCartney. Jon takes his role so seriously that he even becomes a vegan!
- May 2009: Kev and Jon part ways with a firm handshake, tears in their eyes, love in their hearts and only admiration for each
other. Jon recruits young Italian singer-songwriter, Pasquale Caprino. They meet on the internet(not as sordid as it sounds!) and
do their first rehearsals on Skype - Pasquale in Italy, Jon in Australia! Pasquale has already released an album of his own material
in Italy and while writing his second, decides to check out the land of the Beatles for a while!
